  April 25 Meeting
Mga Batchmates:

For the record, I would like to report on what transpired last Thursday night at the meeting at George Escarraga's place in Greenhills at the height of the ERAP commotion and the resulting traffic.

Present were Leo Virtucio, Joseph Literal, Miel Magana, Roy Fernandez, Ben Racela, Philip Felix, George Escarraga and me-Adrian Lecaros.

After finishing one case of San Mig Light and an order of pizza, chicken and mojos, the following points were arrived at:

1. the incorporation of the LSQC Batch 1982 Foundation — the forms from SEC will be secured by Philip;

2. Leo to serve as treasurer in trust of the proposed foundation — I (Adrian) gave P1,000 to start the donation rolling- Ambagan na mga ka-batch! Leo to set up the bank account;

3. Miel to coordinate with Jeff Manulid re: the LSQC 82 website consolidation;

4. General Meeting of all the LSQC 1982 graduates at LSQC to be coordinated by Leo and Joseph and Mon Correa (anong oras? and na finalize na ba ito?) so we can meet with Mr. Santos and Mr. Aunario or whoever might be the representative of LSQC;

5. nomination and election of trustees and officers for the proposed Foundation on May 19, 2001.

To those present feel free to add or correct this short report of mine.

To all of you online- please add your two cents worth.

For the sake of the school that we love so well, let us all attend the May 19 meeting.

Please contact all the batchmates you know and inform them of these developments.

Adrian Lecaros

Let us extend our gratitude to our batchmates who went out of their way to attend the initial meeting held last April 25, Thursday, held at the Eisenhower building at Greenhills near Polk St. This is Mr. Import/Export magnate George Escarraga's suite office. The purpose of the meeting is to decide whether we really have to put up the foundation or not and whether we can accomplish a doable project by February 2002. The minutes of the meeting will be reported by Atty. Literal. The meeting was attended by the following:

1) Mr. Corsec Atty. J. Literal (he will always give legal light on our batch's foundation)

2) Foundation propnent and bigboy ng foundation Atty. Licaros (malapit ka na kay Drilon)

3) Nominated Treasurer and mining czar of RP Mr. Virtucio

4) The ever cutie IT banker (b------ king of MBTC) Mr. Magana

5) The honorable AIM graduate Mr. Roy Fernandez

6) The Rotary president himself Dr. B. Racela

7) Mr. P------ Magazine George, just call him George

Among the ideas and the proposals of the meeting, Dr. B. Racela suggested that we may need to examine ourselves such that we need not look far to help our a brother/sister. This reminded me of an experience shared to me by my officemate from Don Bosco. I shared this to the group. Their batch also intended to help the way we are contemplating at. They just came to realize after looking for a quite popular batch mate, this batchmate of theirs was already suffering from a dreaded disease, which robbed him of his capability to support a family of three. They were able to locate this person in the province. They were able to extend financial help.

Such an eventuality may have happened to one of our brother/sister. Maybe we are right in checking out the whereabouts of our batchmates. It is possible that not all of us may have succeeded the way most of us did (I really hope all of us did succeed or at least on way to). It is also possible that some of those who are not responding are already in seclusion because of their unfortunate situation (I hope not). It is possible that this is the time to practice what Lourdes School's meaning of the mission statment — PAX ET BONUM — brotherhood and goodwill, by beginning with a LSQC 82 brother/sister.

This will be the best cornerstone of the proposed LSQC 82 foundation we intend to put up. This is also precisely why we are happy knowing the whereabouts of each batch mate because we have established in our hearts that part of the mission statement of our alma mater, which is BROTHERHOOD. And to top it all, the true intentions of the proposed foundation is to spread GOODWILL.

So far, by looking at the diversity and the experiences of all of our accounted brothers, I am very happy that we are blessed by at least one priest — Fr. Tranquilino Santos, a Franciscan. Wouldn't you wish him to be the celebrant of our Mass on May 19th and share to us the meaning of PAX ET BONUM? With all our professionals and all those who are willing to share a part of his time for others (at least for the attendees), the foundation wouldn't be for a short term.

LSQC 82, our batch, is starting with its right foot forward. I think we are geared to outdo ourselves on this undertaking. I am very grateful that we share these kind of values in our hearts. I am grateful that you, all of you, are part of my formative years (including all of our katarantaduhan, kagaguhan at baho sa katawan which made us more tao).

Maraming salamat sa inyo.

Let us help this LSQC 82 Foundation be a reality. This is the only way we can prove to ourselves that we can give back something to our alma mater and make her proud of it.

Our lady of Lourdes, pray for us.

Philip Felix
