Events > Medical-Dental Mission |
I've noticed that most of us have made it good in life
and we have our own areas of specialization. Our batch
has a great number of lawyers, doctors, architects and
other professionals that have made their mark in their
own arenas. Perhaps, aside from the P1,000.00
contribution, we may set aside some of our time to
offer our services for free to the school or for
socio-civic activities in the name of the batch. For
example, with all the doctors, we can have a
Medical-Dental Mission in a community supported by
LSQC. Our lawyers may offer free legal assistance. I
can offer myself for traning and HR requirements of
LSQC. Maybe for those who may fnd it difficult to come
up with P1,000, this can be their avenue to give back
to LSQC. Just a thought. Any comments?

To my fellow LSQC 82 docs
Let's heed to the call of Hernan Espiritu and organize a dental and medical
mission to a chosen community. We may even use the LSQC grounds for the
said project.
For starters, can we identify these people?

Mga duktor at dentista sa Batch 82:
We are organizing a medical-dental mission sometime in October of this year to be held in LSQC grounds.
We need to identify who turned out to be doctors or dentists in our batch. Kung may alam kayo, please
give me their contact information.
So far, I know the following turned out to be quack docs/dentists. Beware!
Dale Abraham - Plastic Surgeon
Jeff Pizarro - Anesthesiologist
Arnold Cabatingan - Ophthalmologist?
John Aveñdano - Internist? Family Physician?
Vince Alba - Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist
Ben Racela - Dentist extra-ordinaire
Jay Sioson - ????
Ernie Baron - Jack of all, knowlege power, herbal medicine, cleansing diet, weatherman...
I am sure I have missed out on some names. Please identify yourselves or for those who know,
turn them in.
In addition, we will need all the help we can get from you, volunteers. People who know
pharmaceuticals and medical supplies should be able to help us out.
This will be the first significant project of the foundation this year. We want to make this big.
Thanks,
Jonas

Doc Jonas,
Caloy Palomares of St. Bernard is a dentist. Haven't seen any postings from
him though but I know he's there practicing. We were neighbors and practically
grew up together. Sorry I couldn't be there in person to pitch in the effort
but I'll be there in spirit (alcohol free of course). I'm here in the SF Bay
Area so it'll be quite a trip. Good luck and more power on the med mission day
whenever that is.

Jonas & Ben:
Thank you for your immediate action regarding our first major activity for the year.
We know how busy we all are but we still find some time for this worthy endeavour.
We salute you, Messrs. Chairman and Vice-Chairman. Well done, mates!!!
To our other batchmates:
The moment has come and we would like to appeal for more active participation.
Let us use all mediums of communication specially the internet for us to make all
our projects very viable. If you have the time, please attend the announced meetings
and we know you a have a lot to share. Please spread the word to our other batchmates
you are contact with and be counted.
Yung mga nasa abroad:
You too can help by soliciting items needed for future medical/dental missions,
book donations or other worthy endeavours.
medical/dental mission? Are we targetting the poor residents of La Loma or should
we first serve our school by having the elem or hs students as our recipients?
Please attend our next meeting sa Padi's Point (Parañaque) this 21st of July.
Time to be announced.

George, Jonas and Philip,
Herewith is my initial canvass of the medical check-up packages for our
intended med mission with the LSQC Faculty and Admin (with some inputs from
my sister na OB and with experience sa med missions):
The usual for 40 below:
Routine Lab Test (CBC, Chest x-ray, Urinalysis, Stool Exam and Blood
Typing) ------> P 150.00
For Over-40:
Blood Chemistry (CBC, Cholesterol, Uric Acid, Blood Sugar, BUN (Kidney),
SGPT (liver), Urinalysis, Stool Exam, Blood Typing) -----> P 330.00
Separate x-ray at plus P 120.00
Separate Breakdown of Fat/Cholesterol at plus P 120.00 for Triglycerides
and P 140.00 for HDL/LDL (good and bad cholesterol)
For Over-40 Female:
Pap Smear and Breast Exam -----> P 60.00 for the consumables like the
slide, gloves, etc and about P 100.00 for the laboratory. Do we have a
pathologist in the house? My sister advised against mammography and bone
density in medical missions. My sister could lend us her residentes at
Fabella Memorial Hospital to help us with this.
For the ECG, I have to check pa with my other sister (Doktora din na syang
primarily gumagamit nung ECG machine) what supplies are needed and who much
these supplies would be.
Okay?

Roy,
Thank you for the input. I am sure this is a big help. We have to make a good
impression on our first medical mission. We hope we can provide all the
necessary funds for this.
