Batchmates,

It is 2:45 AM Feb 25, 2007. I just came from our homecoming. I just want to let you know that our celebration was something we can all be proud of. Certified classic! One for the books! A show-stopper. Every alumnus enjoyed the party. Compliments and kind words of appreciation were coming all the batches who were present.

Sa mga kaklase ko, seeing you laugh your heart out led me back to those wonderful years of childhood. Seeing you enjoy the moment moved me to tears. The effort was all worth it.

To the alumni homecoming committee, thank you for lifting me up so I can stand tall. You guys make me look good. Credit belongs to all of us. This was a team effort.

Raul, you are a true genius. Yours was a yeoman's job. What a way to celebrate your birthday. Jay, thank you for volunteering your talents as well. Your directorial job was superb. Your tandem is beyond compare. The two of you deserve your much-needed sleep now. The hours that you put on was a true sacrifice.

Philip, our current batch president, your organization and execution was commendable. Thank you for making my job easy.

Joey A, Leo, Joseph, Jojo A, Erwin, Roy F, Ruel, Jayjay, Jojo Gonzales, Donnie, Gilbert, Edmund, Ben, Shirley, Alma, Bernie, Regie and Ted--- thank you for the ideas and being very helpful during the event itself.

To our elementary classmates (Class 78), Ted Palomo, Ricky Santos, Battad, Yorky Vitangcol, Kulas Toribio and others, thank you for staying connected and supportive.

Gary Puno for the great rendition of the batch song composed by Raul. Toti for being the voice of our preview video (Rewind: Blast from the Past) crafted by Raul.

George E, the alumni association president and first batch president, thank you for starting the dream and reinvigorating our batch.

Fr. Ed Tiamson, a mentor and friend, for sharing the Eucharistic celebration with us.

To our balikbayans, Noel Carino, Tito Salvador, Romel Simon, Roy Cardenas and Rainier Cruz --- thank you for taking the time out and spending money to be with us. I hope your experience was priceless.

To those who have supported the homecoming fund, maraming salamat po sa inyo. Your money was and will be well spent.

Sa lahat ng dumalo, 101 students from Batch 78/82, your company brought so much meaning to the event. Calling each one of you by phone personally paid off in the end.

When I saw the sea of white and marian blue on stage, the class of 1982, I had goosebumps. Our batch showed up in true force. You should have seen the admiration, awe, excitement and envy of the people before us.

Our act is hard to surpass. Some say it is the best homecoming so far. We have set the bar to another level never achieved before. But for me, when all is said and done, what really matters most is the unbridled joy and excitement that I felt -- seeing your faces once again, hearing your voice and laughter loud and clear, being able to shake your hand and call out your name. You reminded me of my youth --- when we do things in reckless abandon and having the time of our lives.

Sentimental, proud, elated, amazed --- these words could not even sum up what I truly feel.

To our classmates who were not able to attend, you were surely missed. Thank you for being one with us in spirit. I know how hard it is for most of you who had no choice.

To the 15 teachers (Mr. & Mrs. Santos, Mr. Paras, Mr. Aunario, Mrs. Fajardo-Kelley, Mrs. Canave, Mrs. Ranada, Mrs. Villacrusis, Mr. Pastor, Mrs. Colindres-Laya, Mrs. Esguerra, Mrs.Tuazon, Mrs. Catotocan and Fr. Ed Tiamson) --- thank you for being second parents to us. You have made a difference in our lives.

To all alumni, thank you for being a part of this once in a lifetime experience. To those I failed to mention, my apologies. You know who you are.

I hope this has rekindled friendships and mended broken ones. Time is too short to hold a grudge on anyone. We are after all, brothers and sisters. I treat you as part of my family.

I am not sure if how many would be around on our golden celebration. I offer reconciliation to those I have hurt.

To those who personally approached me to verbalize their sincere appreciation last night, maraming salamat. The honor and glory belongs to US. The people behind the scene deserves the credit more than I do.

It was truly a BLAST! I wish I could rewind it over and over again.

God bless each and every one of us.

Thank you for entrusting to me this task. It was a privilege and honor. To my co-chair Toti, let me share this one to you as well.

Truly proud to be a part of Batch 82 of Lourdes QC. Here's to the next 25!

The Board-of-Directors and Officers of the Alumni Association and the silver jubilarians, Batch 1982 would like to thank the administrators, school personnel, former teachers (both retired and active) and most specially the alumni community for making our annual general homecoming a huge success!!!

IT WAS REALLY A BLAST!!!

We are deeply humbled and moved with all the unwavering support and kind words bestowed on us. All the hard work and sacrifices are worth it. All of you made it possible.

Truly Proud to be Lourdesians...

Classmates,
First, congratulations for a very memorable and successful homecoming natin!

Sayang lang maraming wala na nasa Pinas who didnt make it for whatever reason at yung mga di maka uwi, guys, you missed 25 years of your lives compressed in four or five hours. May panahon pa naman ata at may exclusive 82 reunion di ba?

Muli, salamat mga classmate sa pakulo kagabi! So when will the 82 exclusive affair be? Hanggat anjan mga 'mates natin from the US sulitin natin panahon na andito pa sila.

Jep Pizarro

Jonas & to the rest of the Homecoming Committee,

Take a bow for a job well done!

Just reading Jonas' note below moved me to tears as well. Actually, when I realized that I won't be able to attend our homcoming, I really felt so bad especially when I read the email exchanges about the ordering of the shirts, the "proposed" excuses to be used to go on leave from work and to be away from your respective families abroad, the volunteers to sponsor lechon for the event, etc. You can already sense that there was going to be something different about this homecoming. This was something I was really looking forward to as early as last year. I was so near (I'm just a little over 3 hours away from Manila) and yet, so far.

As early as Friday, I kept on playing our batch song in the office and in the hotel where I was staying so that I won't feel so miserable missing this once in a lifetime experience.

I kept on texting Raul last night for updates. Who attended? What's the program now? Have they have heard the batch song and seen the MTV?, etc. Raul's replies were pretty much the same as those written by Jonas. He was even saying he was still high hours after the event and he couldn't put into words how he really felt. (How I wish to have felt the same way if I was also there.)

I missed seeing my friends in Batch 82 and other batches. Most importantly, I missed the rare chance to personally thank our mentors who have served as our second parents during our formative years. (If ever Jonas was able to use some of the things I proposed to be included in the certificate/plaque of appreciation for them, I'd like to take this opportunity to let our beloved teachers know that these came from the bottom of my heart. I'm very sure this holds true for the rest of our batch.)

February 24, 2007 was truly one memorable evening for our batch! IT WAS INDEED A BLAST FROM THE PAST... KASI ANG BATCH 82, WALANG KATULAD, WALANG KATUMBAS, WALANG KATAPAT, WALANG KUPAS !

Gary Puno

Fellow Lourdesians:

Last nite we had a great time as we were one as Sons of Lourdes! As our batch 1982 was the host batch celebrating 25 years since graduating from LSQC, we pored over our yearbook and recounted memories and experiences we have with our batchmates.

Needless to say we spent over seven hours laughing, joking, kidding and reminiscing over shared memories of life in Kanlaon and Apo streets under the Capuchins and guided our beloved teachers! We had 5 yearbooks from 1972 when we graduated from Prep; A yearbook from 1976, our elementary graduation yearbook from 1978, a yearbook from 1981 and our prized 1982 yearbook to help us bring the sweet memories of our youth!

Our host Ferdie opened the reunion with a heartfelt prayer and presided over the clebrations! Thanks and KUDOS to the Siklab boys- Giovi, Manny, Bing, Miel, Johnson, and Jay for the sumptious food we partaked! Jun Martinez for plying us with high (bottled) spirits! Manny (again!) for providing the pambabata na chicharon and side-splitting antics while he held forth recounting the most memorable events of our alma mater! Levi Cardenas for flying in from Australia and ably representing his brother so well that a few actually beleived that he was Roy! Arthur Ortega and Joben Abraham for sharing in the caraderie! Jeff Burgos for flying in from San Francisco and flying out the next day- all for the glory of the school we love so well!

Most of all, thanks to all who attended and who pledged to support our fundraiser for Lourdes Shool in support of the charitable activities planned. I am proud to report that as of last nite we have collected more than $600 and we hope that by the end of February all the pledges will be in so we can remit our collections to MAnila!

Please mail any additional pledges and donations to me: Adriano Lecaros at 22901 Sherman Way, West Hills, CA 91307 so we can send it on March 1 or at the soonest time!

Salamat sa lahat ng dumalo- and those who were one with us and although they were not present- they assured us that they are true Lourdesians still and will remain so forever be!

I will send out the pictures asap and until next time! Pax et Bonum!

Adrian Lecaros

George,

Actually habang nagse-set up sila Ted Palomo sa grade school grounds early in the morning of Saturday, medyo may pagbabadya nga ng pag-ulan. He sent an urgent text to Philip saying ____ (blip blip)! Mag alay ng itlog sa Sta. Clara!

Knowing the power off egg offering, nag punta agad kami ni Philip sa Sta.

Shirley

My dear LSQC Batch '82,

Fraternal greetings of peace and all good!

I'm sure that all of you could still feel the hang-over of last Saturday's Rewind: Blast from the Past! It was incredibly terrific! All the collaborative hard work, the conscientious effort and cohesive team work really paid off! It was evident that you never allowed any form of intrigues, misunderstanding, impatience, and selfish interests overwhelm you. Against all the odds, you were able to come up with a memorably significant event that would be forever etched in your hearts! I blelieve that everything was for the greater glory of God!

I'm exceedingly joyful to be part not only of the grand homecoming of LSQC but particularly of your batch. All of you are like sons and daughters to me! We all left LSQC in 1982 with fond recollections to cherish. And this compelling motivation lifted up our spirits to come back and be with one another again. That day of the homecoming, I was also "rewinding" the good old memories which school year 1981-1982 brought to our lives. Reminiscing the past experiences we had in LSQC, the favorable and and unfavorable ones, brought us happy sentiments. The formation which your beloved school provided you is remarkably evident. You undoubtedly remain to be Lourdesians as ever!

Indeed, the homecoming is a celebration of life - an opportune time to rekindle in your hearts the spirit of Franciscan joy, friendship, fellowship and brotherhood.I wish to give high commendation to all of you - the Sons and Daughters of Lourdes for making the Grand Homecoming '07 a significant moment in the history of LSQC. And I'm sure, we're all proud to be part of this history! I wish to acknowledge all of you, especially the Batch '82 Core Group for the laborious task you selflessly rendered in planning and organizing this great event! Rally behind the project of your batch for LSQC, take the extra challenge for this worthy endeavor and in this way you can leave a lasting legacy to your beloved school in its pursuit of educational excellence and effectiveness. May this serve as an inspiration for Batch '83 as they begin to prepare for the alumni homecoming festivities in 2008.

Carry on and more power! May we constantly be inspired by our Lady of Lourdes and St. Francis of Assisi in our journey through life! Sons and Daughters of Lourdes, we'll ever be! Thanks be to God!

Fraternally,
Fr. Ed Tiamson, OFM Cap.

Fellow Lourdesians,

I am glad I attended the reunion.

My journey to LSQC for the homecoming of 2007 "A Blast From the PAST" was long.

The journey started on the 22nd Feb 2007 from Sydney via Cairns to Tokyo & then finally to Manila the next day on the 23rd (Romel Simon spent 3 days travelling from the East coast USA though).

I spent the whole time in gleeful anticipation of what was going to happen in Manila which I haven't seen for a year since I left the Manila to live in Sydney & work in Tokyo.

Also because this was batch 82's 25th jubillee and LSQC was going to honor us again (no matter what has happened of us after all these years).

I have been in touch with a lot of old friends I haven't seen in years thanks to the LSQC82 e-group.

The surprises started when I arrived at the PAL terminal, and even before retrieving my luggage & passing through Customs, a voice was crying out loud from the outside calling my name (the customs staff were already looking at me suspiciously).

It was Ranny "The Teacher's Pet"/aka "the moderator" Anis, who just arrived from Bacolod, also to attend the homecoming. One grade school buddy was apparently in touch with him & he was told to wait for me as our flights arrived not far apart.

The ride to QC was heart-warming. The Teacher's Pet was a matured individual now who exchanged meaningful anecdotes with my folks. Not finishing high school at LSQC, The Teacher's Pet, in my book, was actually a genious himself who could have been class valedictorian (which would have broken the heart of Toti Esguerra, Jonas del Rosario & Thomas Pe all the more) if he were not, as one grade school teacher would say, like a "kiti-kiti" in his younger days (probably hyper-active from too much coca-cola & arnival in sago at gulaman???!!!).

Next I went to the private clinic of batchmate Dr.Tristan Chipongian. The "Leprechaun" is now a dental surgeon, a professor of dentistry and the head of dentistry in the public hospital, the East Avenue Medical Center (my teeth & gums felt so confident in his care).

I went on a pre-reunion night out in the Celebrity Sports area later, which brought a lot of teenage memories back, with The Teacher's Pet, fellow Rocker JP "We're Stuck with JP " Lirios, & LSQC grade school batch 77 Atty. Eric "The Jazz Singer" Fetalino.

The Teacher's Pet picked me up that night, and lo & behold, in Ranny's car stereo was playing the rock band The Guess Who. You will not hear this type of music elsewhere and it donned to me that these guys are really of my tribe & my era.

Having originally planned not to stay all night, the pre-reunion affair lasted until 4 am!!! It must have been the company or the 80's music or simply the thoughts & old stories about LSQC.

One thing we settled was that apart from Dr. Michael Bernos jokes (who is no less than his uncle Chiquito's source of jokes), all the green, brown & all other rainbow coloured jokes which went around LSQC came from the Teacher's Pet himself. Apparently, he was also the Pet of the tambays of San Francisco del Monte & that he actually imported an entire culture to LSQC!!!

One thing unsettled was why Martin Lapid (because he didn't show up) loved so much to poke us, his friends, with his sharpened pencils which caused us a lot of trouble (face the wall or stay in front).

I went home with sour jaws & was on the verge of loosing my voice from too much laughter.

Next day was the big day.

I tried hard to have a long sleep but I was simply too excited. So there I went to LSQC at 3:30pm with a floating head with hangover.

The spirit of LSQC was back in me as soon as I saw my batchmates. Shortly, our bouts of misbehavior was interrupted by the solemn mass officiated by a fine gentleman, Mr. Fr. Ed Tiamson.

Architect Gilbert "The Bicycle" Villapando was in his old choir boy voice as he lead the liturgical singing.

Edmund Lopez, the head of the mass committee made me do the first reading to which I quickly said yes (if that were in our high school days I would have said; "Why me??!!").

After the mass, the excitement grew more and more as more old faces emerged.

The food was great, the set up was excellent but the video presentation made by Raul "Ang Alamat"/birthday boy Clemente & Jay " The Director" Sioson brought chills through my spine bringing back the old days.

The place was just flooding with batchmates in white & Marian blue shirts, the batch82 uniform.

The organizing committee did a great job which put a lot of pressure on the future homecoming organizers.

Alumni Association President George Escarraga went around tables greeting other batches initially, then finally just sat in one table: all alone and in disbelief of what was unfolding. His years of hardwork has bear fruit.

Dr. Jonas del Rosario was as ecstatic as he went around taking fotos of what was happening.

Philip Felix did a better job in that he took over the leadership of batch82 from Architect Toti Esguerra in the middle of everything.

What was more heart-warming was that a lot of our former classmates who did not finish high school in LSQC (for whatever reason) were there.

I finally got reunited with my grade school best friends (jeepney buddies, karate club buddies & face-the-wall/stay-in-front buddies) Martin Lapid (now a successful businessman) & Eric Fetalino (now a law partner). We parted ways in 1977 (30 years ago!!!) after grade 6, when Eric went to UPIS, Martin straight to LSQC high school & myself attending grade 7 (I was actually the Patsy of the group!!!).

Now famous fashion designer & then grade school buddy Eric Pineda was there, being so grateful that we remembered him & still considered him a part of LSQC despite finishing high school at UST.

Seeing Raul Pobre, Isabelito "Billy the Stuntman" De Vela, & George Yambao brought back the glory days of THE LAST GRADE 7 CLASS in my mind.

Ex-actor Louie "The Hunk" Magat (screen name Eddie Del Mar Jr.: he actually used his father's screen name, the original actor who portrayed Jose Rizal's Crisostomo Ibarra in the 50's), who went to Mapua high & who was once an athlete of UE, was also there, reliving the old elementary days when he would slam dunk the elementary basketball courts together with Jigger & Keyser.

A contigent of Lourdes Manda guys were also there headed by businessman Mane Fernandez.

I was very happy listening to the success stories of my batchmates.

One lady batchmate, Vivian Mangahas, actually runs her own pre-school.

Smart girl Alma Salazar's story impressed me the most: She was a vet med with 5 kids (how can she stay that sexy still??) when suddenly she decided to take up medicine. It's sounded to me as if she just bought a book from National bookstore & started reading it. She just passed the medical board this year. And to top it all, she adopted another child despite having 5 kids already. She is truly a show of class in intellect and compassion (a true Franciscan at that).

I felt so privileged that night in the midst of batchmates like Dr. Jonas del Rosario (Top Outstanding Young Men awardee for performing a heart operation free of charge on an indigent 2 month old child to repair a malfunctioning heart valve), Roy Fernandez (GM Western Union), Makyo Almario (President Wheeler's Club), Atty Joseph Literal (PNOC Legal Counsel), Atty Jerome Sarte (Law Partner), Captain Jong de Luna (Philippine Airlines A330 Captain), top executives Dong Bernardo, Glenn Rosales, Ricky "Decimal Point" Santos, Joey "Alcohol Free" Abarquez, Alex "Rocky Balboa" Cruz, Hernan Espiritu, businessmen Donny Pile, George "Estregan" Escarraga, AJ & APaul "The Man" Fausto, Arnold Dayrit, Noel Carino, Arnel "Nitsuga" Agustin, Erwin "Kiss Alive II" Paz, Ghey "Super Model" Gomez, Manny Decena, Rey Lustre, Reggie Cruz, doctors Dale Abraham, Mike Bernos, Robert Manlapig, Ben Racela, Jeff Pizzaro , Jun Avendano, humanist Dencio Ilagan (vp Celebral Palsy Association of the Phils.), Abac Cordero (Philippine Star sports writer), Geologist Leo Virtucio, bankers Noel Sugay & Vic Martinez , Anti-poverty Commisioner Jeff Manulid, PDIC VP Shirley Garrobo-Felix, Jojo Angus, Rommel Paderon, Construction Engineers Jeff Galang, Jon Sta. Maria & Ariel Cases, Reggie Apostol, Bernard Bolisay, Jojo Baetiong, Mon Ycasiano, Transport Union Officer Raymund Collado, Parmaceutical executive Bowie Copon, balikbayan Rainier Cruz, Chippy Cruz, Egay del Castillo, Jake Domingo, Sound engineer Eloy Eloriaga, Jo Magsalin, ex-Penthouse Live dancer Paolo Manalansan, Financial analyst Mario Mariano, Uni-Oil executive Gretz Rivera, etc, etc, etc.

We had a foto session with Ms. Colindres, our grade 3 adviser whom we regard with great affection (we were looking for Ms. Tuason our grade 4 adviser, whom we regard with the same affection, but she must have left early).

Our high school mentors Mr Garcia-Canave and Mrs Ranada were special to us & they showed the same affection after all these years.

Lourdes School's living legend Mr.Epifanio Paras was there (a hall of famer in my book). Absent from the program was a roll call (my guess was that it might have been omitted because it might have taken 2 hours to complete) where Mr. Paras must have recited all our names & credentials.

I finally said thank you to Mrs. Cora Fajardo-Kelly & Mr.Cesar Aunario: both Math teachers who were the first important people in my life who gave me the impression that I was worth something being a middle child in a family with over-achieving siblings.

Both of them had the same message: The best way I can thank them is to be a good father to my children & a good husband to my wife.

I missed a lot of other mentors like Mr. Ella, Mr. Alex Narciso (who taught me the word transcend) and grade school Pilipino teacher and basketball coach Mr. Oca Delos Santos (who broke my heart in grade 7 when he will not admit me into the elementary basketball team because I was going to be 13 years old & over-aged by the end of the tournament but who thought me the value of integrity).

We also missed Fr. Rector Troy Delos Santos (he even drove my elder brother & myself home when we had sore-eyes in grade 2) & Fr. Dave Mateo (also my Spanish teacher) who showed us great kindness during our Lourdes days.

I missed other close batchmates like Alvin Dalangin, Mickey Arroyo, Tony Macalino, Relly Catapang, Johnson Mallari, Leo Flores, Aids Lecaros, Arnold Cabatingan, Jojo Caimol, Mon Correa, Edan Surtida & most especially Val Fernandez (2 taon rin naming hinanap pero magaling magtago).

Looking back at all our years & seeing all of my batchmates made me think that the Lord God was very good to all of us indeed.

There is a saying that "the Lord helps those who help themselves."

But I think now that the "Lord helps those who help themselves & helps most especially those who also know how to pray to Him."

No doubt that LSQC was the one who taught us how to pray!!!

I went back to Tokyo that Monday voiceless & tired.

Nevertheless, I felt so energetic inside: my soul & spirit were recharged by of this once in a lifetime affair.

It has been 5 days now since the reunion but I still feel as ecstatic.

Maybe this is one meaning of Dr. Jose Rizal's famous words: "Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan."

Once in a while, it is worth going back to where we came from to have a better grasp of where we are going.

Total time spent e-mailing the boss to ask for permission to attend reunion: 2 weeks.

Total travel time to Manila: 16 hours.

Airticket price: US$600

Narita Hotel room price: US$85

A night at LSQC with my batchmates & mentors: priceless.

I am glad I attended.

Sanay magkita-kita tayong muli!!!

Mabuhay ang LSQC!!!

Roy Cardenas

Brod Roy,

Thank you so much for the fotos and also the very wonderful detailed write-up of your experience in the reunion. Believe you me. I can't help but wax sentimental everytime I see them. Parang ang bilis natapos ang reunion. Bilis ng mga pangyayari. Namimi-miss ko na kayo.

I tried catching you on YM for 2 days last week pero you were always not available then.

Pare, maraming salamat talaga for inviting me to that homecoming. Finally, I was able to come home and be with you, my first and original family, after 30 long years. Until recently, I never thought that I would see you my, my original "brothers" (you, martin, ranny, michael bernos, etc.) ever again. Until now, after a week, I still have vivid and heart warming images of that very unforgetable night. Again, my never-ending thanks to you for still being my elementary best friend despite 3 decades of separation and for insisting that I attend that reunion and also to Tano Sarte for having me enrolled in the egroup thereby bringing me back to the fold of LSQC. Walang question, first love ko ang LSQC. Ika nga ng Seals & Croft, first love never dies.

Pare, I really wish that you could come back sooner than later. Bitin na bitin yung pagkikita natin. Marami pa tayong dapat talakayin. 30 years ang bubunuin natin. We have barely scratched the surface so far. Kaya nga tinawagan pa kita nung monday kaso i missed you by a few minutes.

Pare, pasensya na. I will definitely write to the egroup. Medyo naging busy lang talaga ako this past week.Besides, until now, mesmerized and tongue-tied and twisted pa ako sa experience. I am still full of emotions concerning that pero di ko alam paano ko sasabihin.

Would you believe, sa sobrang LSQC-fied ko at present, I caught myself a few days ago unconsciously singing "Ben" by michael jackson.

As we promised to each other last saturday, tuluy-tuloy na to. We shall regularly keep in touch. Tiyak yan.

Ingat ka lagi, best friend and brother.

Eric Fetalino

i should have been there with my batch last homecoming, kaso i have so many reasons i can't and those reasons are known by some of you guys....

heniways....

i feel sad and lonely after reading all the high balooning and explosive remarks of those who all attended the homecoming.... mainly because, i am not used to just being a plain audience for the even (raul, alam mo yan)...i would have participated from start to finish.... (remember the manuvu days? the way we managed ourselves preparing the costume, makeup, etc...- i think that was the begining of the "bayanihan spirit" of our batch).

i know how tough it is to organize such event, big or small, maraming intriga, maraming hiccups, at most of all... maraming komokontra....kaya talagang saludo ako (kaliwa, kaliwa, kaliwa, kanan kaliwa - may kasama pang marcha yan) sa mga nagsumikap, nagpagod,...lahat na.......(been there, done that!)

i feel proud.....siyempre, batch 82 eh.......

teka maiba naman.....did anyone of you attended any summer classes in LSQC? for those who did....there was one summer na merong isang kalbo...skinhead....AKO yon!...hehehe (ulski - another milestone) (ray mag....kailang nga yon...we were doing some "pause mix" at our house tapos nagulat ka...)

hayyyyyyyssss!.....kung pwede lang ibalik ang panahon.....

kung pwede lang talaga!

EDAN

What to do if you were not there...

1. check all the messages/pictures/video from the website and our egroup, if possible prinout coloured photos from the event

2. go to the nearest clothes shop and look for a marian blue/white shirt that is very similar to the shirt you saw at the website; if possible, look for a baller id too...

3. grab all your pictures from elementary and highschool and all other stuff that reminds you of LSQC and prepare them near your lounge or dining area.

4. wait for 4:30pm and pray the rosary

5. go to the nearest store and buy some liquor or beer,.... chips and nuts will help

6. arrange everything so that it will always be in full view

7. make sure 80's music (jazz, rock, punk, pop espcially Michael Jackson) is the ONLY music you have. prepare any available camcorder or phonecamcorders.

8. start singing and dancing and headbanging.....when tired....sigh and laugh....after a small pause...look at some of the pictures and start teasing your former classmates and teachers....sigh and laugh.....pause and continue singing and dancing and headbagning (repeat if necessary) make sure you are taking some pictures and videos.

9. stand in front of the nearest mirror.....and start singing "kami ang batch 82"....get some backup (relatives and/or friends) for second voice.

10. send your photos and videos during your own homecoming to the egroup

please feel free to add more tips.... as my wife and kids just threw me out of the house....maybe i'll continue in the garage...

We had a dinner with some of our teachers at Gary's place at Loyola Grand Vilas (March 10, 2007). Just sharing a couple of pics I took (kaya wala ako sa photo).

The teachers who were there included Ms. Fajardo-Kelley, Mrs Esquerra, Mrs. Jallorina-Duenas, Mr. Aunario, Mr. Alex Narciso, Ms Catotocan and Mrs. Villacrusis.

Jonas

Pareng Jonas,

Thanks for organizing this together with Philip. At least, we had a mini-Rewind : Blast from the Past, Part ???? (ilan na nga ba yung post-grand homecoming events?). It was our pleasure & honor to have hosted this small gathering for our teachers. It's a pity some of them couldn't make it. Thanks also for giving me the opportunity to wear our batch shirt.

As for the pix you took, ok naman yung 1st coz magakahiwalay kami ni Alex..... balanced. Sa 2nd one, medyo over-exposed nga sa middle right portion. Dumikit kasi sa akin si Alex e. =)

Maraming salamat ulit!

Gary

Mga ka-batch,

Jeff Burgos to!

I have been quiet all this time enjoying all your postings from birthday greetings to reflections on the recently concluded Homecoming celebrations. Nakakainggit basahin ang e-mail exchanges ninyong lahat. I really planned to attend the reunion kaya lang nabago ang mga plano dahil we decided to take the whole family to Manila this summer. Our plan is to be in Manila for six weeks this summer (June August). Dahil magastos ang biyahe this summer, kailangang magtipid. Kung may mga plano ng get-together around that time, pakisabihan naman ako.

As I was not able to fly to Manila for the reunion, I decided to join the L.A. group sa mini-reunion that was organized by Aids Lecaros.

Parang high school days ulit but this time, mas lalo pang nagkakaisa.

Sumasainyong lahat,

Jeff Burgos

Hi Guys!

I've finally found time to read all the posts and view the pictures about "Rewind: Blast from the Past" and I've also viewed the MTV in our website. I feel really, really, really bad about not being able to attend that once in a lifetime event!

I had actually been looking forward to attending our homecoming; but like Toti mentioned in his message last month, a rare opportunity came along for me to be able to provide for my family and I was left with no other choice.

Our e-group has been very active since the event; which is a testament to the success of "Blast from the Past". Congratulations guys! You all deserve more than just a pat on the back. This will truly be a tough act for other batches to follow.

I think our secret was that the actual planning of this event happened (whether you agree with me or not) several years ago...when the e-group was formed. From that time onwards our direction was clear. I don't believe that the size of our batch had much to do with the event's success ( though it may have helped a little). What made this a success was our sustained communication throughout the years. Also, events like OktuBeerit, SOLGG and the Billiards Club helped us practice our organizational and event management skills building up to this momentous occasion!

Special "thanks" should go to the leaders and the movers of Batch '82! People like George Escarraga, our fearless (and sometimes sex starved) President, whose leadership and persistence (specially in keeping the e-group alive) has reaped a lot for the batch; or Aids Lecaros, whose zeal not only helped jump-start our batch foundation, but also created another group in the USA; or Raul Clemente, our rockin' webmaster, whose skill, talent and creativity gave color and feel to our site and our events; or Jonas Del Rosario, who, even with a very busy schedule, found the time and the energy to organize such a large scale and successful event; or our former teachers and mentors, who have shown us their unwavering support; and all the other people who worked behind the scenes, like Philip and Shirley Felix, Leo Virtucio, Mon Corea, Jay Sioson, Toti Esguerra, and many more. Please forgive me for not mentioning all of you. My memory is not like it used to be (hehehe).

But most of all, we should thank each and every member of our batch for showing unity despite our differences during our days in LSQC! I'm truly proud of being part of this batch!!!

Mabuhay ang BATCH 82!!!!!!

Boom

My dear Batch '82,

I have just arrived from my visit to the Philippines, still sore from flu that hit me on the 19th. I apologize for the delay of this email.

I'm honored and humbled to be an integral part of your totality as productive members of society. Despite my flaws and inadequacies, you embraced me in your hearts and put your faith and trust in me as I mentored you for two years, both in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. Some of you even endured me for another year of math elective. Didn't you have enough of me?

Thank you, Lourdes School, for the collaborative efforts you devoted in nurturing this bountiful reservoir of human resources. This windfall of seedling potential was dropped at your portals, you rolled up your sleeves and the laborious farming went in full swing. It's no wonder the harvest is plentiful.

When your batch's achievements peak up, the world will not ignore you, the world will not belittle you; the world will not forget you.

In your sunset years, Lourdes School will shout to the ends of the world: I am blessed to have Batch '82.

Thank you, Fr. Ed, for your well deserved accolades for them. I couldn't have said it better.

What I witnessed on the night of your Silver Anniversary was just one confirmation of my hopes and dreams for you. There is more to come, bigger and nobler.

What your batch can do doesn't surprise me anymore. You're capable of anything you set your minds on. "Rewind: Blast from the Past" is just an appetizer to a sumptuous dinner.

When you peak up in your achievements, the world will not ignore you, the world will not belittle you, the world will not forget you. Lourdes School is with you all the way.

My trip was worth everything I came for, and the icing on the cake was the enthusiastic and exceptionally warm welcome you and the other batches gave me as I joined you in the celebration.

Also, knowing after twenty-two years about Mr. Santos' declaration of his true regard for me as a faculty member, was heart-warming. Now I can humbly say I'm not a woman to fear, but a woman to love.

Hats off, Batch '82!
Mabuhay ang Batch '82!
Mabuhay ang Lourdes School!

Love and prayers,
Ms Cora Fajardo-Kelley

Dear Ma'am Cora,

Maraming salamat po! We will definitely take the challenge to make a difference and to be instruments of change. Might not be for the our beloved country but atleast for LSQC. We will give our best, be it time, skills, knowledge and wealth, just to bring back the glorious days of LSQC.

"CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME"

Rest assured that our batch thru the Batch 82 Foundation will continue supporting the school in its pursuit to provide its students with quality education geared towards Christian Leadership with the spirit of Gospel brotherhood.

Thank you for all the support you have extended to batch 82.

Pax!

Joseph

Dear Atty. Joseph John Literal,

You're one student of mine who at this stage in life got to where he is not by talent alone but more...by sheer force of will power, hard work, and prudence (prudence that has evolved from integrity and refined wisdom, so to speak). Congratulations!

From the wealth of experience built into your background as an authority and dispenser of justice, you're God's minister more than a power vested public figure. Dispensing justice is a privilege and a vocation, never an advantage.

Here is where your math comes in: As you balance facts with reason, and separate lies or here-says from truth, your judgment must always be tempered with compassion and mercy that epitomizes genuine Christian values. When this becomes habitual for you, you're ready to take the reins of government. This being the case, I'm indeed talking to my desperately needed future Philippine President. Do I make sense?

Big leaps start with baby steps, Joseph, and the baby steps can one day win a race. How very comforting to know your batch has started projects of social concern. Keep moving and God speed?

Ma'am Cora

Thank you, Jonas and Batch'82 for my CD copies of Rewind: Blast from the past.

The CD's you gave me are superb, and very touching, indeed. They bring tears to my eyes every time I look at them. Who would think I would still see my students after all these years? You all look terrific!

And to think that my decision to celebrate with you came in the spur of the moment. I'm lead to believe now that the decision is one of my life's best.

I have viewed them everyday before bedtime, since I first viewed them last Monday night.

Thank you to you and the batch for sharing them with me,

Ma'am Cora
