Mga ka-batch!
Last 26 Oct 2005, I took my oath as NCR Representative of the Victims of Disasters & Calamities (VDC) Sector under the National Anti-Poverty Comission (NAPC), Office of the President. My term started last 18 July 2005 and will end on 30 June 2008. The oath-taking was delayed because of the recent political crisis we experienced.
Also, last 28 Oct 2005, I was selected as Alternate VDC Commissioner to the NAPC.
I hope the batch can support and work on several anti-poverty programs. This will fulfill what LSQC has been teaching us about St Francis who left all his riches and followe Christ by serving and helping the poor. I know that will be very difficult for all of us, but maybe we can do our part on helping the poor.
Thank you very much for all the prayers and support you shared with me. Attach are some of the pictures during the oath taking.
Regards,
JEFF MANULID

Jeff,
Naniniwala ako sa gawaing ito. Kasama na pati ang corruption, eradication of
poverty is the right path to our country's and families bright future. You
have my support. Congrats!
Dennis Baltazar
Dennis, thanks very much! It will take a several years to eradicate these things, but I hope we can work together to minimize these....

Congrats pare. We can surely work together to help
our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Maybe we can
discuss with you our on-going and prospective projects
for our less fortunate brothers and sisters in the
Lourdes Community.
by the way, our company is involved in the GMA
Abot-Kayang Pabahay at Palupa in Cavite. We can also
discuss plans and programs specially on the livelihood
aspect of the project.
Pax!
Oeph Literal
O-Eph, thanks very much!
Actually, pabahay is one of the anti-poverty thrusts of government. I will see how I can be of service to you, I think I am a member of NAPC's Asset Reform Committee which includes housing, I have to check on this for confirmation.
I plan to forward a menu of activities to Batch Pres George Escarraga which you may opt to support.
Thank you.

My dear Jeff,
Pax et Bonum!
The Office of the President made the right choice in appointing you as the NCR Representative of the VDC Sector! You're indeed the right man for this mission! I'm exceedingly joyful that the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, the Poverello is very much alive in you! We know that St. Francis discovered the richness of God's graces through his encounter with the poor - the lepers! Jeff, you're a true blooded Lourdesian! I'm very happy and proud seeing Lourdesians, especially your Batch '82 as you take upon yourselves the moral responsibility of ministering to our less fortunate sisters and brothers!
Keep up the good work! More power to you and the rest of Batch '82! Carry on!
"Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, you do it unto me!"
Fraternally,
Fr. Ed Tiamson, OFM Cap.
Fr Ed,
Thank you very much for the kind words....I am quite speechles....

jeff,
congratulations on your appointment!!! i am sure we can work out on something that is within your program. to start with, you can present to us the plans and programs of your office so we will know how to come in and help you. the alumni association will be more than happy to assist you also and i can forward your request to the civic action committee.
do you work hand-in-hand with NDCC? i can recommend you also with my civic group, pugad lawin and you can give a talk and invite the group to help you with your programs.
more power and hope to hear from you soon...
george escarraga
Thanks very much George!
Thanks also for opening the batch support. OK, i will be forwarding my menu of activities and I really hope you can help on certain aspects.
Yes I coordinate closely with NDCC, I still have a lot of contacts there since I was former Head of NDCC Executive Support. All groups of different persuasions are very much welcome to be of help and assistance but for the meantime, I would rather seek support from groups I trust (eg LSQC '82) most especially since I am new in this endeavor and I want every commitment of mine to the NAPC be fulfilled.
Again, thanks!
Regards,
JEFF
jeff,
that's good! general rosales and secretary reyes are both members of our civic group which is accredited with NDCC. the group by the way is apolitical.
we are one with you in your endeavours. you have a tedious job and your work is admirable. the pressure is tremendous on how to alleviate the life of the poor. several administrations have passed but the gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider. i wish you all the luck and success.
our batch is proud of you and hope to hear from you soon.
